(1899-1968) Jesuit priest; Ph.D., St. Louis University (1934) from which he was assigned to Gonzaga University (Spokane, Washington) as President, Rector of the Jesuit community, and Professor of Sociology until 1942. He was then chosen to lead the Jesuit Oregon Province as Provincial, its chief administrator, a position he held until 1948. President, American Catholic Sociological Society, 1947.

While teaching at Seattle University, Robinson was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and returned to Gonzaga for the remainder of his life. He worked to advance the cause of coeducation at Gonzaga, supported the transition from Eurocentric to Amerocentric approaches to Jesuit education, and advocated the development of the social sciences model as distinct from the humanities.
