(1920) After receiving a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Maryland in 1958, Imse taught at the University of Maryland, Canisius College, and College of the Holy Cross, from which he retired in 1988; President, Mount Senario College (Wisconsin), 1995-1996. President, Association for the Sociology of Religion, 1973. Although his general areas of research have been industrial sociology and population, Imse's concerns have also embraced social problems of the community in both their theoretical and their applied aspects. At professional meetings focusing on the sociology of religion, he has delivered papers on religious conservatism and political conservatism. Loretta M. Morris |
